With the recent announcement: NxFilter is fully compliant with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). How would a NXF admin create a CIPA compliant filter? Could you help outline what categories to block?

According to DNSfilter.com these categories would be appropriate to block for CIPA compliance:
What content do I need to block?

Adult Content | Alcohol & Tobacco | Drugs
Gambling | Hacking & Cracking | P2P & Illegal
Search Engines & Portals | Weapons | Botnet
Cryptomining | Malware | Phishing & Deception

The above categories don't match perfectly to the Jlist list of categories available. Example, which category would botnet fall under?

As far as I know, CIPA is intended for schools and their networks rather than individual security solutions. To comply, you need to block "harmful sites" for students or children. The interpretation of "harmful" can vary depending on the situation. If you're using Jahaslist categories, these specific categories should be blocked to ensure compliance.

Alcohol/Tobacco
Astrology
Dating
Drugs
Gambling
Hacking
Phishing/Malware
Porn
Proxy/Anonymizer
Violence
Warez/Torrent
Weapon
Suspicious
Cryptocurrency

We made the announcement in response to inquiries from the US regarding NxFilter’s CIPA compatibility. Schools in the US need to meet CIPA requirements to receive certain government subsidies. I know that many schools have implemented CIPA-compliant networks using NxFilter.

We have many US schools in our customer base, and they have been using NxFilter for several years. This indicates that NxFilter effectively meets CIPA requirements.

Thank you. Our org would like to block 'harmful sites' so taking the high road even if that means protecting sites for adults that are meant for students or children is ok. You can always open doors (sites) if needed at times it can be harder to close doors. Thanks for the response. Our NXF site already had many of those categories blocked, added cryto, warez/torrent, and proxy/anonymizer. If user complains and have legit reason, the admin can make allowances.
